i know i know this is a design blog. don't worry i won't be posing in a field and making my husband take pictures of my outfits any time soon. BUT i am so inspired in my designs by my clothing & fashion that i have to post about this skirt.

i ordered it last week. it came and it has easily become the most amazing thing in my wardrobe. this model must be TALL. i stand at 5'5 and this skirt hits at the most incredible mad men length, right below my knees. love love love it. i love it.

i finished up work with Brook on a logo & blog design for her company 'little fish' a while ago. she should be up and blogging in the spring but i can't wait another minute to post the creative we worked on! she was a joy to work with-and again this is one of my favorites ever. i'll post more about her company & blog when she's ready to go!

i wish i would take before snapshots of a blog before i work on them just to emphasize to people how effective and beautiful white space & a simplistic design can be! especially when working with a photographer i try to always encourage white space. the images should be the focal point of the blog, always! and since tiffany is SUCH a talented photographer, i was so happy in working with her on a design that showcased her work. this is one of my very favorite designs to date. i just love love everything about it. tiffany is a gem & instant friend. looking forward to convincing her to snap some shots of us when she's back in town!

bri invited me to a cookie exchange a couple weeks ago. it was so delightful! a bunch of cookies to eat & no kids....the makings for a pretty relaxing afternoon i say! i brought gingerbread cookies with pumpkin dip. they were the first recipe i've ever tried where the gingerbread was actually soft & scrumptious. bri is offering free printables of her gorgeous invitations she sent out. be sure to pin them for next year!

this year i wanted to do a year in review. after seeing what the very talented amanda jones had done last year for her card i was so inspired! i definitely didn't have the time to work on it like i would have hoped, but i do love the way it turned out. it's fun to consider your ENTIRE year in very small bullet points. since my year consisted of being pregnant, giving birth & having a newborn-i'd say it was a good one :)

a girlfriend and i threw a christmas breakfast for our children's friends last week. everyone came dressed in their christmas jammies. complete with a hot chocolate bar, reindeer pancakes, twas the night reading, photo booth & gift exchange it was truly a great way to celebrate the holiday season! i LOVE details and especially love coordinating labels, tags etc.... i think it adds such a special, personal touch.

in the spring i started a project with shelley. she is an incredible seamstress who makes the most beautiful custom made baby bedding. i told her i'd love for her to make my new baby's bedding as a trade for her blog/logo design. i swear i got the better end of the deal! i LOVE her site but i LOOOOOVE my bedding more! :) I picked out my fabric & she went to town. the fabric & design we decided on ended up being the entire inspiration for the room. a sort of subtle circus theme. shelley is beyond easy, kind, lovely, wonderful & fun to work with. i pretty much just fell in love with her!

i've been working with {the hilarious and ridiculously nice} shelli over at a la mode on a few pieces for her site. she already had a full site design done and just needed some media kit pieces re-created. we stuck with her colors/theme but tried to give her a whole new feel. i love the way they turned out. i've added media kits to my services as they have become a very popular & efficient way to inform your sponsors about your advertising prices/stats.

how much do i love kirsten at 6th street?! let me count the ways! she is a personal friend from the olden days & i am so thrilled at the success of her blog! she was the FIRST complete blog design i ever did & lucky for me she let me have at it again for an updated look. i love that she kept the integrity of her original brand with color and shape but amped it up a touch....well a lot! i love love love love the design & any opportunity i have to work with miss kirsten.
